Enclosed free-standing fireplace

Although in many installs free-standing fireplaces are installed in open spaces where they are exposed. They can also be a great feature in a home when installed in an existing opening. One of our customers decided to replace his open fireplace with one of our free-standing Deluxe E fireplace. As he was busy with some renovations he had to finish up the painting before we installed the unit. The idea is to get maximum heat from your input, so we blocked above the fireplace with aluminum flashing and insulation blanket so as to prevent any air flow upward the brick wall. We lined the chimney from the fireplace right through to the outside and insulated between the flu pipe and the cowl adapter as in the pictures below. We then fitted the bell cowl and waterproof around it.
