Controllers; Thermostats; Measurement
This is a temperature relief valve for solid fuel boilers. It is inserted into an opening at the back of your boiler stove (towards the top where temperature is highest). If for whatever reason the pump stops circulating and the temperature increases to 97 degree, thus valve opens, thus dumping out the hot water from the system, while simultaneously backfilling with cold water from the mains. When the temperature in the system drops down to an acceptable level this valve closes again. This is your first protection mechanism on a boiler stove, which activates before the pressure relief valve.
