The 20mm thickness panel is our thinnest standard panel - usable with our regular 16mm installation piping. It has expanded polystyrene (EPS) insulation. EPS insulation is produced by putting foam beads into a mould and then applying heat or steam to cause the beads to blend and expand. This creates a closed-cell structure, but not a closed-cell insulation board, as there are uneven gaps between the beads. This panel does have slightly worse thermal insulation characteristics than the 25 and 30mm panels, so is only recommended for installations where keeping the floor height low is paramount (such as renovations of existing buildings).
